Bursaries
Alleyn’s School has been growing its bursary programme at an impressive rate over the past decade, awarding 100 means-tested bursaries in the 2018-19 academic year. Of these, 66 were fully funded and covered all fees, and a vast majority covered at least 75 per cent of costs. The school also offers financial assistance for uniform, travel, school meals and other incidental expenses. It is looking to grow its bursary provision to be able to cover up to 20 per cent of pupils.
There is decent competition for bursary places – applications are both means- and academically-tested, and families are required to submit their financial information. The school bursar also visits each applicant at home to meet them and to help with the transition from primary to secondary school.
