James Allen's Girls' School

JAGS might be the oldest independent girls’ school in London, but there’s nothing fusty or old-fashioned about this place. Forward-thinking, progressive and fervently non-elitist, JAGS girls are a lively bunch – and jolly clever too. This is a school that looks way beyond its own four walls while nurturing a strong and diverse community of its own. We’re seriously impressed....

    Bursaries
JAGS offers a generous bursary package that includes as standard the costs of uniform, travel, trips and lunches and up to 100 per cent of fees waived. The school currently funds 20 new bursary places every year and aims to increase this year on year – it currently supports 130 girls with some form of bursary provision. It is worth noting that to be eligible for a bursary, a full financial declaration is required, and the school expects both parents to be working, or actively seeking employment, unless there are extenuating circumstances.

The deadline for applications for a bursary is 15 November in the year preceding possible entry, although applications do not need to be made until after the prospective pupil has been invited to the January entrance exams.

More information can be found on the school’s website, with its bursary policy that lays out its guideline sliding scale for fee assistance:
