Cheam School

Undisputedly smart on the outside, delightfully down to earth on the inside, this impressive Berkshire prep is one of the oldest in the country – and wears its history and heritage with pride. It’s a winning mix of old-fashioned country values and progressive thinking, where academic standards are sky-high and children hop off to top boarding schools all over the country. This is a school brimming with good eggs (yes, they do have an award for that!), and both children and staff are exceptionally well-mannered and kind. An exciting place to be. First impression...

    Bursaries
Cheam offers means-tested bursaries of up to 100 per cent of tuition and other fees payable. The decision to offer bursaries is made on academic performance in the entrance exam, academic record and potential in extracurricular activities, as well as financial need.

Awards are made at the discretion of the Board of Governors, who will calculate award levels in relation to a family’s financial circumstances. Awards may be varied upwards or downwards depending on individual parents/guardians’ circumstances (e.g. their savings, investments and realisable assets, as well as their income, the size of their family, any other persons dependent upon them and like factors), compassionate or other pertinent considerations.  Bursary awards are subject to repeat testing of parental means each year.
