Sherborne Girls

A big-hitting school in a well-heeled Dorset market town, Sherborne Girls is a purposeful, unpressurised place, embracing the community it’s part of while producing strong academic results. And while this is a school staunchly tailored to girls, a unique partnership with Sherborne Boys (which recently merged with Sherborne Prep) – just across town – opens doors to endless co-ed opportunities, from music and debating to lifelong friendships. Bursaries
Sherborne Girls offers two routes for bursarial support - Candlelight Bursaries and General Bursaries. Candlelight Bursary candidates are usually identified by recommendation from a third party, for example the Royal National Springboard Foundation, are supported by the fundraising efforts of the Sherborne Girls Foundation and are aimed at offering fully funded places to girls who otherwise would not be able to consider a boarding education.

The General Bursary scheme exists to offer further support to applicants who require it and who are already in receipt of a scholarship or merit award or who the school deems would benefit from the experience of a Sherborne Girls education. All awards are means tested and subject to annual review.

There is a flat fee remission of 10% for families who work in the Military and Foreign Office.
