Bursaries
As part of its Foundation Scholarship programme, CHS offers fully funded places to two children a year who are currently in Year 3 at a state primary school and who excel academically. This award is a continual award that lasts for 10 years and covers 100 per cent of independent-school fees from eight to 18. The children remain at CHS until Year 8 (aged 13+), when they move on to one of 16 independent senior-school partners, subject to the entry criteria of each school. There they will complete their school education to Year 13 (aged 18), as part of that school’s own 100 per cent-funded bursary programme – for the full list of partner schools please see the school’s website below.
Foundation Scholarships are strictly means-tested annually and are only awarded to children from families who could never afford to pay for a private-school education, either through their single or joint incomes, or the release of assets. The school also states that it is an advantage, although not essential, if they also show potential in sport, music, art, DT or drama.
