Set in the beautiful surrounds of Lancashire’s Stonyhurst College, the Stonyhurst Experience offers children from the ages of eight to 18 a range of academic and activity-based courses to get stuck into over the summer holidays.
Anyone looking to brush up on their English language skills can sign up to a two-, three- or four-week residential course, with all levels and abilities catered for. Expect small class sizes, regular progress assessments and masses of bespoke attention – and pupils from more than 18 different nationalities joining in. Classes take place in the mornings, with afternoons freed up for classes in everything from cooking and baking to science and astronomy in the College’s own observatory. There’s also ample opportunity to get out and about with trips to the Lake District or the theatre, and evenings packed with salsa classes, movie nights and barbecues. Children get full use of Stonyhurst’s knockout sports facilities during their time on the course.
Other courses running throughout the summer include rugby, netball (run by Tracey Neville MBE, a former England international and head coach) and tennis, with both day and residential options available.
