What sounds like a cool menagerie of animals from a children’s book – the Cat, Caterpillar, Bear and Owl – is actually a hugely successful south-west London nursery staple founded by principal Rozzy Hyslop. There are two in Clapham (the original, Cat and Owl); one just down the road from Balham Tube; another by Wandsworth Common. The broad, creative curriculum is a mix of Early Years Foundation and Montessori methods, with plenty of time set aside for little ones to run off energy on the nearest leafy green space.
