    Bursaries
The school offers bursaries to children of parents or guardians that work or have worked in the licensed trade industry for 5 years or more during their career - this has been the governance since the school opened in 1801. On average, they fund between 15 - 25 pupils at any time; bursary applications are not subject to a scholarship being won. Before a bursary can be considered all enquiries have to go through the admissions department so that a place can be registered. All bursaries are subject to the needs of the child and a financial assessment, and all cases are presented to the school's Charity Services committee for a final decision.

Separately from the bursary process the school can offer a 20% trade discount to people that work or have worked in the trade for 5 years or more. Parents can still apply for the trade discount if they may not be eligible for a bursary.
