With courses running for three and a half weeks over the summer, Gordonstoun International Summer School combines the quintessential summer camp experience with academic enrichment and the opportunity for children to make lifelong friendships with peers from all over the world.
Open to both native and non-native English speakers, children can pick from a range of academic courses including literature and creative writing, computing and international citizenship, while clubs and activities might see them taking to the stage, dabbling in woodwork or learning to paddle-board on one of the beautiful beaches close to the school. One of the biggest perks of the experience is Gordonstoun’s knockout Scotland location, and trips include visits to Inverness Castle or jaunts along the West Coast to try and spot the Loch Ness Monster. Best of all, six days of the programme are dedicated to outdoor adventure – and lucky attendees get to sail around the Western Isles in the school’s fleet of yachts and try their hand at kayaking, gorge-walking and canoeing. It’s a course like no other – and it's little wonder so many children return year-after-year.
