Bursaries
Denstone College exists due to the generous gifts of their benefactors, inspired by founder Nathanial Woodard "to provide an education based on sound principle and knowledge". This philanthropic nature spans 150 years, and gifts from Old Denstonians, parents, staff and friends of Denstone have enabled children from all backgrounds to benefit from a Denstone College education.
The College remains committed to providing financial aid, in the form of bursaries, to any child with potential, that does not have the financial means. Their means-tested bursaries provide transformative opportunities for young people and they believe that the whole College benefits from a pupil community that is representative of their society. The school offers a number of means-tested bursaries each year to pupils joining in any year group; bursaries are not limited to scholarship candidates, and can be for up to 100% of fees. For pupils already in school, whose family circumstances have unexpectedly and significantly changed, the application process is the same and is managed on a case by case basis throughout the year.
The total of the school's bursary pot is in the range of 10-12% of gross fees.
