Merchant Taylors' School

An art deco gem of understated excellence on a 285-acre campus only 30 minutes from central London, MTS felt to us like a happy school full of courteous and articulate boys whose compassion and community ethos are remarkable. Merchant Taylors’ is undeniably a place for very bright sparks, and the world-class facilities certainly add to its allure, but the MTS sum is even greater than its parts. The child-centred approach makes it a flexible environment for its 900 pupils, who come from a joyously diverse range of backgrounds. Academics, all-rounders, sports-lovers and joiner-inners...

    Bursaries
MTS offers bursary support at 11+, 13+ and 16+ entry of up to 100 per cent of fees, with further financial support for uniform and other necessities if required. The school also offers a separate number of ‘free places’, with full fee remission as standard. Both awards are means-tested and require a full financial history and a home visit as part of the application process.

If the demand for bursaries exceeds the number available, the school will decide based on need, performance in the entrance exam, potential and academic achievement. Recipients are expected to make sound academic progress following admission and benefit from and contribute to the wider extracurricular activities on offer at the school.
