  • SEND

This school currently supports the following kinds of learning needs, health needs and physical disabilities:
At Sherfield, we welcome children with a range of learning preferences, including pupils with special education needs and disabilities, pupils who are gifted and talented and pupils who are English Language Learners.

Our staff are committed to educating all pupils in a common learning environment with similar-aged peers.

At our School, diversity is made visible as a strength and respectful relationships are continually enhanced with all children fully taking part in learning through adjustments and teaching strategies tailored to meet the diverse range of learners reflected in wider society.

Please share full details of any additional educational needs (G&T, SEND, EAL), individual education plans (IEPs) and any Educational Psychologist, Paediatric, or other specialist reports (e.g., Speech and Language or Occupational Therapy) if completed. Sharing educational history with us prior to a place being offered is essential so that staff can ensure an appropriate assessment of educational need, educational plan and resourcing is in place.

This school currently provides the following support for pupils' mental health needs
At Sherfield we have a dedicated Health Centre. Emotional Health and Wellbeing is important to the whole school environment and the Lead Nurse is also trained as a Youth Mental Health First Aider. We pride ourselves in having a warm and friendly department where pupils who may need some emotional support can come to when they need to. We work closely with parents in these situations and external agencies if applicable. We also have Colin our therapy dog and human counsellor that come in every Thursday and are available for drop in sessions.
