Headington School

A mile outside Oxford and set in 23 acres, Headington has a 1930s façade that gives way to knock-your-socks-off facilities: a refurbished science wing, floodlit all-weather pitches for sports, a multimillion-pound dance and fitness centre with a ballet studio that has the same quality floor as the Bolshoi. But perhaps more impressive than all of that is the school’s exceptional value-added. By the time girls leave here, they score well above what they were predicted on entry, with many achieving a grade higher per subject at GCSE (the results bear out at IB and A-levels too: in the latter, 79 per cent recorded A*-B in 2019) – energetic and passionate head Caroline Jordan is understandably immensely proud of this. ...

    Bursaries
    Bursaries are available for local day girls living within a 26 mile radius of Headington and joining the Senior School at 11+, at 13+, and in the Sixth Form.

    Bursaries are awarded to girls who would benefit from a Headington education but whose families would otherwise be unable to afford it. They are offered on a sliding scale, based on each individual family’s financial circumstances.
