Repton School Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Success
After an outstanding set of A Level results, Repton School’s GCSE pupils are now reaping the rewards of three years of hard work and dedication to their academic studies with over 61% of entries awarded grades 7 to 9.
After an exceptional set of A Level results, Repton School’s pupils are celebrating their GCSE results after three years of hard work and dedication. While the national grade proportions were lowered, Repton School has bucked the trend and improved year-on-year results. This reflects the professionalism and dedication of the teaching staff as well as the commitment and ambition of the School's pupils.
Over 61% of entries were awarded grades 7 to 9 (A* to A) and we are extremely proud of all of those who sat their GCSE exams this year. A significant number of pupils gained more than seven 9’s and this highlights the academic aspiration that pervades Repton School.
As with Repton’s A Level recipients, this cohort has endured unprecedented circumstances in their formative years as a result of the pandemic. From remote learning to year-group bubbles, they have overseen adversity and demonstrated just how impressive their personal achievements are.
Many pupils have achieved academic excellence alongside impressive extracurricular endeavours, from gaining representative sporting honours at the highest level to involvement in music, drama performances, community action groups and STEM activities. All pupils have balanced their academic studies alongside a variety of cocurricular commitments and we are proud of all that they have accomplished.
Commenting on the results, Repton’s Headmaster, Mark Semmence, said: “Congratulations to all our candidates receiving their GCSE results today. This is the culmination of applied study, perseverance, positivity, and unwavering support from Repton staff. These results demonstrate that whatever passions Reptonians may have, they are supported in every aspect of school life and are well-prepared as they move on to the next stage of their education. This is a true testament to the balanced education that we offer here at Repton. We look forward to welcoming them into our Sixth Form in the new academic year.”
