New Bilton Grange boarding house leads way for 21st century prep school life
Bilton Grange Prep School in Warwickshire, part of the Rugby School Group, is building a new co-educational boarding house for 80 children aged between 7 and 13.
Groundwork has already started and the building is scheduled for completion early in 2025. Full-time, weekly and flexi boarding are all on offer to fit in with modern family life.
Designed to be comfortable and fun, the building has plenty of space for games and music; communal areas for work and peaceful reading; a splendid new dining-room; and an exciting helter-skelter slide to whirl the children from the top of the house to the ground floor. Bilton Grange’s wonderful 90-acre countryside site is also being protected, as outdoor learning, sport and play are important elements of the School’s ethos.
The new building is part of a School-wide transformational project that will create exciting development opportunities within the main prep building which currently incorporates the girls’ and boys’ boarding accommodation. The vacated space will be converted into new classrooms, a dedicated Learning Development department, and improved working areas for staff.
Head Master Gareth Jones said the project investment will fulfil the School’s sector-leading vision to offer an unrivalled experience for all pupils. “As we embark on our 150th year, it seems entirely fitting to be launching a project which will have as significant an impact on the day-to-day life of the School as any in its history.”
